剧情简介

公元前73年，来自古罗马利比亚省的奴隶斯巴达克斯在加普亚格斗学校中爱上了女奴瓦瑞妮娅。同年，格斗学校的奴隶在斯巴达克斯带领下发动起义，获得自由，随后斯巴达克斯与瓦瑞妮娅团聚，结为夫妇。起义震惊了罗马的统治集团，激化了元老院中贵族派和平民派的矛盾。贵族将领克拉苏乘机击败平民派首领格拉古，篡夺了首席执政官的权力，实行独裁。格拉古为了打击克拉苏，打算私下放走奴隶大军；克拉苏却重金收买了海盗，并召回在国外作战的两支大军。斯巴达克斯起义军三面受敌，寡不敌众，数万奴隶战死，他与妻子和六千幸存战友均被克拉苏所俘。在最后的关头，由于格拉古的帮助，情况又发生了变化。。The play tells the story of a young couple, Cathy (played by Carol White) and Reg (Ray Brooks).
